The Methodist Church Nigeria, in collaboration  with the Community Dentistry on Wheel Inc, is set to provide free medical screening for Lagos residents.

The programme is themed, ‘A sound mind with a sound body’.

The Most Rev. Luke Odubanjo, who spoke at a briefing on Monday at the Diocese of Lagos, said the medical programme was to meet the health needs of people, which was the cardinal duty of the church.

He said, “The Methodist Church is well known for its health ministry effort because the ministry of health is the ministry that God cherishes most. As a church, we will not stop demonstrating this gesture till Jesus comes.

“When we came to the country in 1842, we brought health, education and the preaching of the gospel.  With these, we were able to win souls for the Lord.”

The founder, Community Dentistry on Wheels Inc, Dr.  Anu Esuola, stated that the health initiative  would address cases such as hypertension,  high blood pressure,  glaucoma and dental cavity, as well as eye cataracts,  with the free distribution of glasses to aid good sight.
